An adhesive layer is typically present in adhesive materials. Self-adhesive paper, which is frequently used as a self-adhesive label, is essentially manufactured using two types of glue: a hot melt glue with a rubber basis and a water-based acrylic glue. Label paper can be lubricated with glue using big glue rollers in the process of making self-adhesive paper. These can be hot glue rollers for hot melt adhesives or regular "cold" rollers for acrylic glues. Apart from glue rollers, "slot coaters" are a type of hot melt glue gun that can apply a thin layer of glue as the paper goes through the production line.
